Founding Director & Workplace Strategy Leader
B. Arch (Hons) UTS, RAIA
" My early interest in the built environment was driven by an interest in places and cultures where design was recognised as an important part of life. This led me to both study both architecture and travel. Over time I have become more interested in the process of design as an enabler of organisational transformation and business success. If the solution can also be surprising and beautiful that is even better - to me successful outcomes have to work on many levels.”
As Founding Director and Workplace Strategy Leader at FutureSpace, Stephen works with a diverse range of clients to develop bespoke workplace strategies that address their future business needs and play a fundamental role in their success.
Stephen believes it’s only through a holistic approach to design which combines physical, human and technological components, that a responsive and agile environment can be realised.
With over 30 years of experience, Stephen is a recognised expert in workplace strategy and the delivery of integrated design solutions that offer competitive advantages for businesses whilst addressing the goals of productivity, engagement and profitability
His passion for the built environment was initially driven by an interest in places and cultures where design was recognised as an important part of life. This led Stephen to study architecture and to regularly travel the world studying and researching the very best in design and architecture globally.
Following an early career designing benchmark workplaces for the banking and financial services sector, Stephen now sees the lines between sectors becoming more and more blurred. He now enjoys working with innovators, influencers and disrupters from all sectors to help them transform their working and learning spaces.
During his career, he has developed an interest in design as an enabler of organisational transformation and business success. Stephen’s experience also underpins the belief that the physical environment can be both beautiful and practical at the same time. Stephen works across a range of sectors including education, technology, resources, professional services, property, finance and agency.
He is a regular presenter and media commentator and has been featured in outlets such as Sydney Morning Herald, The Weekend Australian, Sky Business News, plus numerous industry, business and design media.
