Fujitsu's super tough space meets the demands of a round the clock call centre environment
—
The Fujitsu call centre in Homebush is a 24 hour facility and is effectively in operation three times as often as a ‘typical’ workplace. For that reason the facility had to be highly durable and maximize the opportunities for the fitout within a restricted budget. futurespace was engaged to work with Fujitsu to design this new facility which combines existing call centre operations across a number of NSW locations.
The key drivers for the project were to provide an environment that was tough and reliable with a high level of amenity for the team whilst at the same time being a cost-conscious, budget-driven fitout.
The overall design concept includes clever use of the Fujitsu ‘red’ in order to define the entry lobby at level three. All elements in the entry lobby from flooring, lighting, framing, logo, glazing and walls are layers of this same colour. On the working floors colour is used again in semi enclosed meeting and breakout spaces to forms “pods” that temper the open plan. A café is provided as respite from the general workplace. Cost effective and sturdy materials have been used here to create a space that is both comfortable and easily maintianed, and the use of large scale environmental graphics further enhances the mood.
