Medtronic is a global company who works closely with health care professionals to create a range of life – changing implanted medical devices. Medtronic was co-founded by an electrical engineer who used medical technology to help a cardiologist keep his open-heart surgery patients alive. Since then Medtronic has used their deep understanding of human physiology to create therapies that help people with chronic diseases.
futurespace completed the design and documentation of Medtronic’s Australian Head Office in North Ryde, working closely with the head contractor and the project manager to achieve a successful project outcome. The existing building was upgraded and refurbished to provide a new world class environment that was appropriate for the calibre of this global corporation.
The project was technically and functionally complex including client facilities, staff cafe, general office areas, warehousing and biohazard areas. A highlight of the completed workplace was the provision of sophisticated hospital standard facilities for the training of doctors in innovative medical procedures.
Following completion of the head office in Sydney, futurespace also undertook the design of Medtronic’s new premises in Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
